Who is Dikko Umaru Radda?
Umaru Dikko Radda is a Nigerian politician and also the 2023 governorship candidate of the ruling APC in Katsina state. He was born on September 10, 1970, in Hayin gada town, Dutsin-ma local government area of Katsina state. He is currently 52 years old and will be 53-year-old by September 10, 2023. Umaru Radda is married to Hajiya Fatimah and Zulaihat.
Umaru Dikko Radda started his formal education at Radda Primary school from 1974 to 1980. He proceeded to Zaria Teachers College between 1980 and 1985. Radda would later attend Kafanchan College of Education in 1986-1990, where he obtained his NCE certificate.
Umaru Dikko Radda joined Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University in Bauchi in 1992-1996, where he completed his B-Tech. Agric Economic and Extension (Hons) studies. Furthermore, he got admission into Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in 1998 -2004, where he obtained MSC in Agric Extension and Rural Sociology 2004.
Therefore, Dikko Radda returned to ABU Zaria in 2005 to obtain a master’s in international affairs and diplomacy. He completed his PhD in Agriculture and Rural Sociology in 2015.

Umaru Dikko Radda was a schoolteacher between 1989-1999. He worked as a banker with the defunct FSB World Bank between 1999-2003. He was the Chairman of Charanchi Local Government of Katsina State from 2003-2008.
Additionally, Dikko Radda was appointed as Chief of Staff to the Executive Governor of Katsina State, Rt Hon Aminu Bello Masari after the 2015 general elections. Umaru Dikko Radda served as the director-general of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN). He was elected governor of Katsina State in the 2023 Nigerian gubernatorial elections.

Zulaihat Dikko Radda is the wife of Katsina state Governor, Umaru Radda. She is a philanthropist and is known for her passion for educating the girl-child. Zulaihat and Dikko Radda are blessed with beautiful children including Amina.

Zulaihat loves to help other people, especially girls and women. She wants them to have good education and health. She works with different organizations to make this happen. For example, she works with UNICEF to improve breastfeeding policy in Katsina. She also supports students in college of nursing sciences in Malunfashi.

In a recent interview, Hajiya Fatima attributed her passion for philanthropy, which birthed PAC-F, to her late mother.

Fatimah intends to support her husband’s policy, especially in eradicating poverty and improving the healthcare. Also, the educational environment for the Katsina girl child. During the campaign, she was seen personally taking her husband’s message to 146 wards out of the 361 wards in Katsina. This is unprecedented for the wife of any gubernatorial candidate in any state in the North.
