Meet Patrick Buchana Tsenga, Rwanda’s ICT Expert

Patrick Buchana Nsenga is a successful technology leader. He is the CEO of AC Group Ltd, a company that created the Tap&Go smart transport solution. Tap&Go is a system that makes public transport easier and smarter in Rwanda.

It is part of the Smart Africa manifesto, a vision to transform Africa into a digital society. Patrick Buchana Tsenga is also a member, Board of Director of the Rwanda ICT Chamber in Private Sector Federation (PSF). This is an organization that promotes the growth and development of the ICT sector in Rwanda.

Patrick is also a member of the Invest in Africa forum committee. This is a platform that connects investors and entrepreneurs in Africa.

Patrick Buchana Tsenga Awards, Recognitions

Patrick Buchana Tsenga has received many awards for his innovation and excellence in ICT. In 2015, he won the Innovator of the Year award at the ELE Excellence awards. This is a prestigious event that recognizes the best achievers in the East African region.

In 2014, he was named the Innovation Champion by Innovation Prize for Africa in Abuja, Nigeria. This is a competition that rewards African innovators who solve the continent’s challenges.

Patrick Buchana Tsenga has also been involved in various activities that use ICT to empower the youth and the society. For example, he led the Rwanda Youth ITU team that submitted over 15 ideas to the BYND2015 ITU summit in 2013.

Patrick is also passionate about creative fiction writing and literature. He has written for the New Times Publication, a leading newspaper in Rwanda. He is also a member of Board of Director of the Youth Literacy Organization. This is a group that promotes reading and writing among young people.

Patrick Buchana Tsenga is also a co-founder of the TECH Support Incike, a charity project that uses ICT to help the survivors of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. This project uses a USSD based system that allows people to donate money to the survivors through their mobile phones.

The money is used to buy health insurance, food, and other basic needs for the survivors. Patrick believes that ICT can be a tool for social good and justice.
